10 Best Big Man WWE Matches Ever

2. Hulk Hogan Vs. The Big Boss Man - Saturday Night’s Main Event 1989

At the beginning of May 1989's episode of Saturday Night’s Main Event, Hulk Hogan vowed to pass a final sentence on The Boss Man inside of a steel cage. Lucky for millions of Hulkamaniacs around the globe, he succeeded.

To be fair, there is a pretty silly spot in the match. Boss Man should have easily won, as he was on the other side of the cage and basically just had to let go of it to win, but he was painfully stalling for an extended period of time for Hogan to get to his feet. However, this absurdness lead to Hogan superplexing his opponent off the top of the cage in a pretty incredibly spot for its time.

The rest of the match had a lot of drama and intensity behind it as well. Hogan looked like he was done for multiple times, but was able to make one of his more realistic comebacks, as opposed to just Hulking Up out of nowhere. The two worked well together, and it's a bit of a shame that Boss Man isn't really remembered as a top tier threat to Hulkamania.

While the stage was smaller, this was a much better cage match for Hogan than the one against King Kong Bundy a few years prior at WrestleMania 2. It also solidified Boss Man as one of the toughest, and all around best, big men in the company.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
