10 Best Big Man WWE Matches Ever

5. Big Show Vs. Brock Lesnar - Judgment Day 2003

In 2003, Big Show seemed like a pretty big flop in WWE. While he had held the World Title, and had a hand in main-eventing WrestleMania 2000, he didn’t feel like a larger-than-life character like Andre the Giant before him. To get fans to take him seriously again, he needed someone who could bring the best out of him, and deliver a series of good, hard-hitting matches. Brock Lesnar was that man.

The two ended up as great opponents for each other. Brock got to look like a beast by tossing his much larger opponent around, and Show had someone who could take all his punishment and get right back up for more. While their most memorable moment was that implosion of the ring on an episode of SmackDown, their best battle was in a stretcher match at Judgment Day 2003.

Usually a stretcher match is a great cause for concern, because they’re generally pretty bad. Somehow Brock and Show turned it into an art form. Just watching those two whack each other with a stretcher is pretty ridiculous fun. They were creative with the rest of their offense as well, and the finish involving a forklift was a classic ending to the brutal contest.

While the rest of the pay-per-view was pretty bad (Piper and Hogan probably shouldn't have been wrestling each other at that point in their career), the two younger wrestlers ended the night on a surprising high note.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
