10 Best Brock Lesnar Feuds Since His 2012 Return

2. Goldberg (2016-17)

Against all odds, Goldberg and Brock Lesnar’s programme of two matches—three at a stretch—ending up being better than it had any right to be.

Having stunk out the joint all those years ago at WrestleMania XX, here were two part-time stars who weren’t necessarily known for wrestling particularly long matches, and yet they managed to turn that supposed weakness into arguably their biggest strength.

Meeting at Survivor Series 2016 in Goldberg’s first wrestling match in a dozen years, Lesnar was beaten in less than 90 seconds in an unprecedented finish. The two then tussled again at the Rumble, with Goldberg easily eliminating Lesnar, before they settled the score in a rubber-match at 'Mania 33, in one of the greatest sub-five-minute matches you’re ever likely to see.

In total, they were in action for less than ten minutes across their three in-ring meetings, yet they still did enough in that brief amount of time to tell a compelling story and deliver more than a fair few shocks.

Booking like this probably wouldn’t have worked with any other duo, and yet it was perfect for this particular feud, making their rivalry all the more unique.

Elliott Binks hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
