2. Hulk Hogan Vs. Macho Man Randy Savage (WrestleMania V)
While Rock and Cena's year long build was really just a handful of appearances, Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage really did have a years build to the Mega Powers exploding at WrestleMania V. At WrestleMania IV, Hogan helped fend of Andre The Giant for Savage to win his first WWF Championship and the two celebrated, became friends and formed the tag team, The Mega Powers. They were hugely popular, even beating Andre & Ted DiBiase at SummerSlam but that winter the cracks began to show when the two had a falling out at Survivor Series during a tag team match. They patched up their issues but on The Main Event in early 1989, Savage became furious when Hogan took an injured Elizabeth to the dressing room and the Macho Man attacked Hogan, turning heel and setting up the huge grudge match for the title at WrestleMania V. Savage would end up getting Hogan's greatest WrestleMania match out of him but the year long friendship, tension and break up of these two is still one of the best 12 month stories WWE has ever produced.
