Not the first boxer to step in a WWE ring, but definitely, the most WWE-style boxer to do so. The undefeated Floyd Mayweather had made his name not just because of his undefeated streak, but also being one of the most outrageous personalities in the sport - making him perfect for a WWE appearance. His opponent, however, was the polar opposite and that’s what made the match more intriguing.

During his hiatus from boxing - after defeating Ricky Hatton - Mayweather found himself working alongside some other huge personalities in WWE as he began appearing at events, most prominently at No Way Out 2008 where ‘Money’ Mayweather first encountered The Big Show.

Evoking the classic David vs Goliath tale, Show shoved the much smaller Mayweather around before legitimately getting his nose broken from one of the boxers rapid punches and this confrontation led to their match at WrestleMania 24 in a no disqualification match. Bringing a big dose of star power, the multi division boxer brought his outrageous and excessive persona to the match, taking celebrity participation to an as yet unfound level. Looking utterly outmatched, ‘Money’ Mayweather used his speed and guile - along with the no DQ stipulation - in order to eventually slay the giant in what was a true money match.
