Vengeance 2001 is a pay-per-view famous for one thing and one thing only.

This was the night that saw the WWF and WCW world championships unified in a one night tournament. The finalists were WWF Champion, Stone Cold Steve Austin, and new WCW Champion, Chris Jericho.

Y2J had beaten The Rock just moments prior, whilst Austin had defeated Kurt Angle to retain his belt. Everyone expected Austin to be the victor here - he was WWF's golden boy after all. However, this was not the case.

The tournament final was a blur of run-ins and interference. Angle, Rock, Ric Flair, Vince McMahon, everybody and their dog got involved in this match in that fun "Attitude Era" way that made this wrestling time period so memorable.

The decisive run-in came in when Booker T - the final WCW Champion before the company was bought out - assaulted Austin with his own championship belt. This allowed Jericho to make the pin and become Undisputed Champion.

This match is twelve minutes of drama with the highest of stakes. It will also go down as one of the most memorable matches in the history of wrestling, as well as the final resting place of WCW and the Invasion angle.
