10 Best Ever Counters To WWE Wrestling Finishers

3. Randy Orton Plucks Evan Bourne Out Of The Sky (Raw - 12 July 2010)

It would have been easy to fill this list with Randy Orton's many RKOs out of nowhere, so deep is 'The Viper's' mastery of his finishing move. It's a great, great match-ender, and something that'll still be drawing big, arena-rumbling pops for as long as Orton is able to execute it without hurting himself, with Randy's ability to use it as a counter to his foes' biggest bombs is one of the main reasons for that.

Here, on this 2010 episode of Raw, two of the most spectacular finishers in WWE history combined in a beautiful counter. Evan Bourne likely thought he had 'The Legend Killer' when he leapt with his Shooting Star Press. Alas, Orton struck, catching the former Matt Sydal's head in a brilliantly timed moment that could've gone horribly wrong if they weren't so goddamn precise, but didn't - and ended up spectacular.
