10 Best Female Superstars Of The New Era

4. Becky Lynch

When Becky Lynch first debuted on NXT, Irish dancing her way to ring, it didn’t seem the most promising of starts. She started her career when she was 15 years old, traveling and performing all over the world before she was signed to WWE. At her NXT debut she was already a veteran, yet somehow she was “always the bridesmaid, never the bride.” Whilst her fellow four horsewomen all held the NXT women’s title, with Sasha Banks and Charlotte going on to multiple main roster title reigns, Becky seemed left behind.

Her draft to SmackDown Live was the best move that WWE could have made for her. Lynch was already incredibly over with the fans, the perennial plucky babyface with a unique steampunk look and a wicked arm-bar. Getting her out of the shadow of Sasha and Charlotte allowed Lynch to flourish and show everyone that she could be a legitimate champion.

As good as her feud with Bliss is, it doesn’t look like Becky’s title reign is going to end any time soon. She is the natural and deserving face of the SmackDown Live women’s division.

Stephanie Lim lives in London and has been watching wrestling since she was 4 years old, which is longer ago than she would like to admit. Her favourite wrestler of all time is Shawn Michaels, her favourite current wrestler is Kevin Owens, and she will always regret being too young to push her way through the crowd to shake Bret Hart's hand at a WWE event in 1993.
