10 Best Feuds Of The Undertaker's WWE Career
5. Vs. Batista (2007)
It's now a well-documented fact that The Undertaker and Batista caught us all off-guard many times throughout their World Heavyweight Title feud on SmackDown towards the end of the Ruthless Aggression era. But their surprising chemistry in the ring was mirrored by the effective manner in which they told their story outside of it.
What really worked with this one was the fact that there was no heel. Both men thrived on SmackDown as heavy-hitting babyfaces and, for the most part, that's exactly how they behaved when they finally crossed paths with each other.
Batista was the deserved champion, and 'Taker the deserving challenger. There was a silent respect between them in the beginning - one that was shattered when they turned on each other multiple times in the build-up to their inaugural showdown at WrestleMania. The real beauty, however, was that through their epic battles, they re-discovered that mutual respect. And that respect was reciprocated from the fans who absolutely loved watching them get it on in the ring.
A true clash of the titans, the feud between The Deadman and The Animal felt every bit the larger-than-life World Title program that it was and it was so refreshing to see that chemistry translate to the ring in every one of their five encounters that year.
