Not even the fact that he was wearing a suit, complete with a salmon pink tie, was enough to dissuade the Montreal crowd from their conviction that the Heartbreak Kid was up to no good when he opened a special Canadian edition of Monday Night Raw in mid-2005.

Although this came in his second WWE run - the one where was supposed to have dropped the sulky teenager act to become a selfless, God-fearing veteran - there was just no way he could head to the site of Survivor Series 1997 without one or two allusions to the Screwjob.

And, sure enough, he went there. In fact, HBK went so far as to get his friends in the production truck to play Bret Hart's music in the middle of his promo, momentarily convincing an arena full of excitable Hitman fans that their hero was about to make his first in-ring appearance in nearly a decade.

Those cheers quickly turned to some of the show's loudest ever Raw boos when the crowd realised that Hart wasn't about to grace them with his presence - and Michaels, for our money, seemed to enjoy it all a little bit too much ("got your hopes up just a little bit, didn't I"?).
