6. Edge and Christian (2000)

The past month in WWE has not been the first time we've seen Edge and Christian in serious mode.

In late 1999 and early 2000, the two supposed brothers had gained some serious heat from their high-risk matches with the Hardys and the Dudleys. With this also came some straight-laced gimmicks and hard-nosed promos, until after WrestleMania 2000, when they injected a reinvigorated sense of humour into their personas.

The new Edge and Christian weren't just funny, but pretty rotten with it.

More often than not, they would cheat their way to victory, and poke no end of abuse towards the comparatively heroic Matt and Jeff Hardy. Even more notable were the deliberately offensive jests made towards the crowds and their corresponding home towns. Find the relevant clips and one can easily see the funny side, yet at the same time, it's easy to see how people may have been offended.

When all was said and done however, the promos were things of legend. Edge and Christian's turn towards the laugh-laden dark side was the career-changing shift of a lifetime.
