It was the closing pay per view act of 1999, and the king of corporate heels, Vince McMahon, was very much a babyface and out to defend the honour of his perfectly innocent daughter Stephanie. There was no better way to solve such a problem in the Attitude Era than with a street fight.

Triple H was the new arch villain on the block, and was on a personal quest to violate the matrimonial vows of Steph. The whole story was creepy and weird, until the big twist dropped at the Armageddon pay per view: with a bludgeoned Vince McMahon lying half-dead in the centre of the ring, The Game stared at Stephanie, and a distressed and defenceless Stephanie stared back... until a wry grin gradually formed on her face.

While the crowd was still gasping, the two locked together in a loving embrace and raised each other's arms. The happy couple was born, and in kayfabe terms, Steph still retains this mean streak 20 years on. The composure and delivery of this initial turn is an example worthy of any wrestler's attention.
