10 Best Impact Wrestling World Champions Of All Time
9. Magnus
When AJ Styles departed Impact Wrestling in December 2013, the company needed a new face for the main event scene. Step forward, Magnus. After aligning himself with Dixie Carter and the other members of Team Dixie, it seemed as if the former British Invasion member was unstoppable as the new Impact World Champion.
While the previous year had seen a dominant champion surrounded by goons (we are of course speaking about Bully Ray with Aces & Eights), something about Magnus' reign just felt different compared to that of the multi-time tag team champion. At the time, he wasn't the biggest name going in wrestling, but that did nothing to hamper his abilities in the ring. He could put on a great match with just about anyone.
His reign with the gold wasn't the longest in history, lasting 128 days. Despite that, the bulk of his time spent with the championship was an enjoyable watch. It was another case of Impact putting their main belt on someone that had perhaps spent most of their career in the midcard (see Chris Sabin, James Storm, Eric Young, etc).
Plus, he was the first Brit to capture the title. A history-making champion.
