With the Derrick Bateman schtick behind him, the man behind the name made his presence felt in Impact Wrestling with his arrival in 2013. It's here he was rechristened as EC3, a name that would gain him fame all over the wrestling world.

Truth be told, it didn't matter what his name was. There's no denying the raw talent the man has, both in the ring and on the mic. Impact didn't actually put the title on him until the summer of 2015, deciding to hold it off despite him being more than ready for that sort of push. When the switch was made, it sent shockwaves throughout Impact. He pinned Kurt Angle of all people to lift the gold for the first time, which is no easy feat.

There wasn't much of his time with the gold that wasn't great to watch. He's as charismatic as can be, something which is always a necessity if you're the face of the company. Looking back, the only bad thing about his reign was when he lost it to Matt Hardy, resulting in the two month tournament known as the World Title Series. No-one should've had to sit through that seemingly never-ending tournament.
