10 Best Intergender Wrestling Matches Ever

5. Timothy Thatcher Vs. Toni Storm (Lit Up '18)

Toothless Timothy proved to be one of the most polarising US indie stars of the 2010s. On the one hand, there were fans who praised his gritty, technical realism between the ropes. On the other, he was widely caned for his often glacial-paced, scientific bouts.

Against current AEW Women's Champion Toni Storm, Thatcher's controversial style was on full display as he used his monumental size advantage to overpower Storm and keep her grounded. The former Ringkampf member's torturous submission work proved to be effective with Storm, who sold the slow-burning offence like death.

Despite being better known as a heel at this point, the Gold Coast starlet showed tremendous babyface fire through her body language and facial expressions here. Horribly outmatched by a disinterested Thatcher, Storm garnered crowd support with her plucky strikes and never-say-die attitude.

Considering Thatcher's near unbeatable status in Evolve at the time, the occasionally British technician's loss here was a jaw-dropping surprise. Lured in by a playing possum Storm, Thatcher finds himself trapped in an armbar and taps almost immediately, selling the deadly efficiency of the hold in the process. With both workers playing their respective parts to perfection, this remains one of the most technically sound intergender matches ever caught on camera.
