10 Best Irish Wrestlers Ever

9. Pat Barrett

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vwS4uKt3tu4 We€™re going old school with our next pick. Born in Dublin, Pat Barrett is largely known for his bout with Bruno Sammartino for the WWWF title. While not a particularly long or memorable bout, Barrett can be proud that he was an opponent during one of the most illustrious title reigns in wrestling history. Barrett also held one half of the WWWF tag team championships for a couple of months before losing to the hall of famer duo The Blackjacks. A well travelled veteran at the end of his career, Barrett had wrestled in the NWA, WWWF and around the world before retiring in 1985. He passed on his knowledge by training young Irish upstarts and helped pave the way for many of todays bold and brightest from the old country.

As a pretty nerdy guy, I've loved film and television since I was a wee lad. Growing up in Ireland, The Den was the show to watch with it playing Batman The Animated Series, Star Trek: The Next Generation and everything in between. I have an MA in Radio and Television Production and have written for various sites, hope you enjoy my articles/lists for What Culture!
