10 Best Kurt Angle Matches
6. Shane McMahon (WWF King Of The Ring 2001)
And now for something totally different.
Whereas Angle and Eddie Guerrero were keen to keep things in-ring at 'Mania XX, Kurt and Shane McMahon roamed everywhere but around three years earlier at the 2001 King Of The Ring pay-per-view. They, apparently, were on some madcap quest to prove that Shane-O was made of stern stuff.
So good was their 'Street Fight' that talent as ace as Steve Austin, Chris Jericho and Chris Benoit couldn't top it in the Triple Threat main event. To fans, the best the show had to offer had already happened by the time Angle suplexed Vince McMahon's kid head first through the entrance way's glass panelling and bust him open.
This was the third match Angle had worked that evening too, which is really astounding. He'd beaten Christian and lost to Edge in the KOTR tourney itself before suffering 26 more pain-soaked minutes with Shane. There were reckless big bumps, yes, but there was also more entertainment than the rest of the show collectively provided.
