10 Best Kurt Angle Matches
5. Brock Lesnar (WWE WrestleMania XIX)
When looking at Brock Lesnar's straight-ahead MMA striking style now, it's easy to forget that he (just like Kurt Angle) took to pro wrestling like a duck might to water. By the time WrestleMania XIX rolled around, Lesnar had only been on the main roster for one year, and yet he shone in the main event with the super-smooth Olympian.
Haphazard bump off an ill-advised Shooting Star Press that almost killed Brock aside, the match went off without a hitch. That's remarkable, not least because Angle was in serious pain and desperately needed neck surgery to correct problems that had been affecting him for years.
As he often did, Angle valiantly fought through the agony to whisk up another gem.
He guided Lesnar though the final few moments of the match after Brock nearly broke his own neck off that aforementioned spot, and he did so like an old pro. On a card featuring matches like The Rock vs. Steve Austin, it was Kurt and Brock who got the headline nod.
