The fourth incarnation of the Money in the Bank Ladder match featured seven wrestlers: John Morrison, MVP, Mr. Kennedy, Chris Jericho, Carlito, Shelton Benjamin, and CM Punk. It was supposed to feature an eighth, a wrestler who may very well have been the one to win the match: Jeff Hardy. However, Hardy failed a Wellness Policy test, and was suspended for 30 days. The eventual winner would be CM Punk, who would cash in later in the year to win his first World Championship. Some highlights from this match include Matt Hardy returning after months out of action to give MVP a twist of fate off the ladder. John Morrison began to cement a reputation as a big risk-taker by doing a moonsault off the top rope with a ladder in his hand, which was a crazy spot. Jericho not only gave John Morrison the Walls of Jericho on top of the ladder, he also gave Punk a Codebreaker from the top of the ladder as well. All in all, a very good ladder match, with a surprising ending.
