10 Best Matches From Wrestlers WWE Released This Week

1. Kurt Angle vs. Shawn Michaels

Two of the best ever.

That'd sum up Kurt Angle and Shawn Michaels. When the former burst onto the scene in 1999 and made pro wrestling look easy, some sobbed into their WWF handkerchiefs that he'd never get to work with HBK. Then, miraculously, Michaels launched a comeback in 2002 and it became a real possibility.

WWE finally matched them up on pay-per-view by 2005 - at WrestleMania 21, no less. The result was every bit as good as everyone had hoped. Kurt and Shawn romped through nearly 28 minutes of slick exchanges, technically-sound holds and almost stole the show with their chemistry.

This, when viewed alongside all his championship wins and memorable promos, has to be considered one of the top-ranking moments from Angle's in-ring career. A mere five years into his pro career, he went in there against one of the best to ever lace up a pair of boots and looked like an equal for the seemingly-peerless Shawn Michaels.

Stunning.
