7. Winning The Tag Titles With Edge

For as illustrious and decorated a career that Hulk Hogan had enjoyed up until 2002, he had never held a Tag Team Championship in any promotion. Not surprising, as Hogan was one of the biggest singles stars of all time and didn’t necessarily need a partner to win gold.

So who better to pair him up with to win his first Tag Championship than with a Tag Team Specialist in Edge? Better yet, there was a natural storyline built in with Edge being a massive Hogan fan growing up. A young Edge was even in attendance at the Skydome for WrestleMania 6 when Hogan took on The Ultimate Warrior.

When he won the Belts with Hogan, the look of pure joy on Edge’s face at being in the ring with his childhood hero was as genuine as anything ever seen in the WWE. This wasn’t Edge the character, this was a man reverting back to a young boy and not believing how fortunate his life had turned out.

Never mind that Hogan carried an American flag to the ring for every match and feuded with “The Un-Americans” with a partner that was from Toronto, this was a feel good moment in a business that can be jaded at the best of times.
