When Beth Phoenix jogged down the aisle to enter the 2010 Royal Rumble, fans couldn't stop themselves from cheering. There was just something cool about WWE doing away with gender division - even temporarily - and recognising a great talent. Even still, as good as Phoenix was, she could never claim to be the first woman in history to enter the Rumble.

That bragging right belonged to Chyna, who entered the 1999 version of the over-the-top-rope match. The 30th entrant is always said by announcers to be a real favourite for the bout. When Chyna's music hit and she emerged in '99, the reaction was one of shock.

She may only have lasted a little over 30 seconds, but it was still a ground-breaking moment. Before Chyna came along, it was unfathomable to picture a woman entering the Royal Rumble, especially considering the match is geared towards gaining a crack at the World Title.

This must have been a proud moment for Joanie Laurer, and she deserved to be in the Rumble and mixing it up with the men.
