CM Punk may be the only superstar in history to win two Money in the Bank matches, but he's not the only one to cash in the briefcase twice. At WrestleMania 23, Mr. Kennedy won the Money in the Bank match, and he soon promised he'd be the first winner to cash in his title shot at WrestleMania - the following year, to be exact. It looked like he was on the road to a major push.

Opportunity came early the following month when World Heavyweight Champion The Undertaker suffered an injury that would require him to miss time and relinquish the title. Kennedy was the logical choice to become champion after a cash-in, but he too was suffering from an injury; in the end it just a hematoma that would keep him out of action for a few weeks, but at the time it was believed to be a major muscle tear. He couldn't unseat Undertaker.

Thanks to some quick thinking, Edge became the ultimate benefactor. He challenged Kennedy and quickly beat him for the briefcase on the May 7, 2007 episode of Raw, sending the former U.S. Champion home for what was believed to be a lengthy rehabilitation.

At the following evening's Smackdown tapings, The Undertaker and Batista clashed in a steel cage match that ended in a draw when both men fell out of the cage at the same time. After that gruelling war, the returning Mark Henry attacked Undertaker. Finally, Edge took his briefcase, cashed it in, and easily defeated The Phenom to claim gold once more.
