10 Best Movies Starring WWE Hall Of Famers
2. The Hangover (2009)
Long before Todd Philips was making Scorsese-esque supervillain movies, he was going hard on the laughs with his comedy features. And there is surely none better than his Vegas comedy The Hangover, which features an extended cameo from boxer and, wouldn't you know, WWE Hall of Famer Mike Tyson.
Despite being convicted of rape in 1992, Iron Mike has never let this slow him down, besotted as the US public is with the comeback stories of sex offenders. After serving less than three years of his sentence he was back in the limelight, making appearances on WWE, guest-starring in popular television, developing something of a film career, and being inducted into the Hall in 2012 by Shawn Michaels and Triple H.
Despite his flat-as-a-pancake delivery, Tyson's appearance in The Hangover was lauded and helped continue propelling him through US celebrity culture. But Philips' film is very much its own thing, needing neither the cameo nor the obligatory star worship to pull a solid chunk of comedy gold out of the bag. Four friends (Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis and Justin Bartha) head out on a Vegas stag do, things go arse over tit, and they have to piece together the night before the morning after in order to locate the missing groom (Bartha). Wackiness -- in the shape of missing teeth, bathroom tigers and mystery babies -- ensues.
