Though they've done a great deal outside of NJPW in 2016, The Young Bucks have held down the junior tag team division and become integral to the survival of the Bullet Club and Kenny Omega's ascent.
Matt and Nick Jackson won the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Titles twice in 2016 to become the only team to ever win the belts five times. Alongside this they won the NEVER Six-Man Titles as two thirds of The ELITE. They have gone on record in the past in the belief that the junior and heavyweight championships should be merged and they took a step towards this in 2016 when they challenged The Briscoes but were unable to acquire the second set of straps.
