10 Best nWo Moments

8. Tell Your Daddy That He’s Still Fired

Eric Bischoff can be one cruel motherf***er. Immediate after turning his back on his own company to join the nWo, the power got to his head. It you weren’t you weren’t on his side, you were screwed.

One night on Nitro, Bischoff, flanked by the nWo, decided to kick the announcers off of commentary. Because, that’s just what they did. They were interrupted by Randy Anderson, a referee Bischoff had fired two weeks earlier. Randy came out with his wife, and two young children to plead for his job back. As the nWo members laughed, Bischoff actually seemed to have a moment of compassion. He asked what Randy’s kids names were, appearing to show some interest in them.

Once they got close enough, Eric had just one little request for the two “Would you please tell your daddy...that he’s still fired!” What a brutal moment. But it was a way to generate great heat for the group, and reminded the audience that absolutely no one was safe from the nWo's reign of terror.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
