8. #DIY Vs. The Authors Of Pain - TakeOver: Chicago
This might be more famous for what happened after the match, but what took place between the bells is still noteworthy.
Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa had one last chance to reclaim their NXT Tag Team Championships from the Authors of Pain and they were given this opportunity in a ladder match - the first in the brand's history to feature tag teams. Whilst their first encounter was a bit one-sided - The Authors' size and power gave them a massive advantage over #DIY - adding a ladder into the mix evened the playing field for the two smaller men.
Gargano and Ciampa helped AOP put together some amazing spots in this match, but not even #DIY are immune from botches. This was proven frighteningly-true when Ciampa and Gargano dived off a ladder onto their who were stretched out over ladders. Tommaso hit his target... but Johnny did not, overshooting wildly and splatting onto the floor.
However, because he's Johnny Gargano, he carried on and took about twenty more ridiculous bumps and got beaten down by Ciampa after the match.
