5. “I Train, I Eat…”
It’s rare that Brock Lesnar delivers one of the lines of the night on Raw—besides, that’s what Paul Heyman’s there for.
But with Brock
taking centre stage in a promo for his SummerSlam match with Randy Orton, he
delved out one of the greatest summaries of his gimmick to date.
Brock reminded us that he trains, he eats, and then he defecates his opponents; although he did so in far less uncertain terms. For me, it’s right up there with his “pile of blood and urine and vomit” line from the SummerSlam 2014 programme with John Cena, and the perfect soundbite with which to hype his latest contest.
To be honest, I could have selected any line from that Lesnar vs Orton promo, including Orton’s jab that “Lesnar isn’t the guy I thought he was” or Heyman’s subsequent beach allegory of Orton as the surfer, Lesnar as the shark.
But in terms of the shock value and the way it was delivered, Lesnar’s line was difficult to top. More of the same in future please, Brock.
