10 Best Opening Matches In WrestleMania History
7. WrestleMania 31 - 7 Man Ladder Match
This is the first of four multi-man ladder matches on this list that have opened the Show of Shows in the past, and it's not hard to see why they are so often employed in this spot. These types of matches are entertaining almost by default, thanks to the promise of broken bodies, creative ways to bring the ladders into use, and the belt or briefcase hanging above the ring.
In the case of WrestleMania 31, it was Daniel Bryan, Dolph Ziggler, Stardust, Luke Harper, R-Truth, Dean Ambrose, and Bad News Barrett scrapping to grab the latter's Intercontinental Title suspended 20 feet in the air.
Everyone in this match had their time to shine, and worked incredibly hard to put on a strong outing. Luke Harper in particular was a stand out as a genuinely athletic big man in a ladder match that could, and did, cause some serious trouble.
The ending of the match was possibly the highlight however, as Daniel Bryan and Dolph Ziggler savagely put together a series of brutal headbutts that would make anybody wince, before the latter fell, and the former claimed his first ever IC Title.
