10 Best Opponents For Daniel Bryan At WWE WrestleMania 35
7. Rey Mysterio
I don't wanna make you feel old, but we're coming up on 13 years since Rey Mysterio won the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 22. That's right. If Rey's title win was a person, it'd be old enough to write illiterate comments on this article throwing slurs at the writer and assuming their mental health history. I don't mean that to judge; we were all w*nkers at 13.
Anyway, Rey's been around a good long while. So much so he's gone through a period of 'past his prime,' then 'washed up,' then thanks to miraculous healing, 'back in the swing of it.' Seriously, it's hard now to tell the Rey of today from the Rey of 15 years ago. The Rey Mysterio who created a generation of wrestling fans in the early 2000s is doing it again in 2019.
While there might not be much storyline reason to pit him against "The New" Daniel Bryan at the moment, would it really even matter? WWE is all about nostalgia and pitting the big stars against each other. What could be bigger to fans from the 2000s than their childhood hero Rey Mysterio once again challenging for the title at WrestleMania? And given that it's DBry, I shouldn't have to tell you the ceiling for match quality would be pretty damn high (if it exists at all).
