3. Brock Lesnar
Appearing pretty emotional (at least briefly) during his ESPN exclusive last week, Brock Lesnar announced that he was retiring from Mixed Martial Arts, committing himself to World Wrestling Entertainment and revealing that he had agreed terms on a new contract with Vince McMahon shortly before going on air. It was a huge announcement, and suddenly what had previously been accepted as the outcome of WrestleMania - namely Roman Reigns leaving as the WWE World Heavyweight Champion - was now not looking so certain. It's unlikely that both Lesnar and WWE didn't realise they'd be throwing things in the air a little with the timing of the announcement, one which seemed designed to create more intrigue in the 'Mania top liner. It worked too, fans seemed unclear who would be leaving victorious. That set the scene nicely for Seth Rollins to have his moment, but it was the manner in which Lesnar both sold Reigns as a dangerous opponent, then conveyed his sheer bewilderment at having the tables turned on him by Rollins, that made the man's performance so memorable. Make no mistake about it, Brock Lesnar is crucial to WWE's success going forward.
