10 Best Pipebombs In Wrestling History
9. Paul Heyman - 15 November 2001
Cutting a promo on how Vince McMahon is out of touch, is something that has been done time and time again in WWE. Arguably nobody has done it better than Paul Heyman, and his best work was on 15 November 2001 during the final SmackDown before the Team WWF vs. The Alliance match at Survivor Series.
With Heyman alone in the ring, he told the audience how Vince McMahon had ruined professional wrestling, leading to wrestlers like 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin leaving, his current roster hating him, and his own children wanting him dead. When Vinnie Mac finally joined the ECW founder in the ring, things took a turn from storyline to reality.
Paul E torn into his new boss in a way that had never been seen before; certainty never before on WWE television. Heyman accused McMahon of building Titan Towers, his private jet and making himself a billionaire on the back of the likes of Hulk Hogan, Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels, and told Vince how he drove every other wrestling company into the ground, betraying the wishes of his dead father.
The ever-controversial Heyman turned red as he told VKM that he hates him for ruining ECW, ruining all ECW's creations - such as Tazz - and ruining his life. Paul would continue to berate Vince until Tazz left the commentary desk to slap the Tazzmission on his former boss, bringing and end to one of the best moments of the entire Invasion storyline.
