10 Best Second Runs In WWE History

8. William Regal (2000 - 2013)

This one might be cheating a little considering that Regal lasted less than a year in his first WWE stint. To give him credit, he was suffering from serious addiction issues that saw him enter rehab.

Upon his return to The Federation in 2000, the former WCW man soon found his niche as a nasty, but wickedly funny heel. Whether as European Champion, Commissioner, or King of the Ring, Regal excelled in every role he was given and became a firm, if underrated WWE favourite.

But it was Regal's work in NXT that really puts this run on a pedestal. The Blackpool native was instrumental in the success of the Black and Gold brand, both as an on-screen General Manager and as a behind-the-scenes scout and trainer. He helped put on some of the best wrestling in the world in the mid-to-late 2010s, before being unceremoniously released by WWE in 2022.

Whilst anything would have been better than his first run, considering the state Regal was in when he was first let go, let's just be grateful we got a second run at all, let alone one that would change wrestling forever.
