Dude Love is arguably the least beloved out the Faces of Foley. Cactus Jack is the deranged lunatic willing to put his body on the line so long as his opponent ends up hurt worse than he is, and Mankind is the schizophrenic oddball who shoves his fingers in peoples mouths, but Dude Love is the hepcat the men wanted to be and the ladies wanted to be with, or at least that was the idea. WWF fans were introduced to Mick Foley properly in his sit-down interviews with Jim Ross, where they saw his original Dude Love videos from college. Foley never imagined hed get to be The Dude for real, but when Steve Austin needed a partner for a tag-title match it was those snakeskin boots that trotted down the aisle and the pair left the new WWF Tag Team Champions. Several months later, Foley turned heel blaming the fans and claiming they only cared about Austin. He sided with Vince McMahon and started wearing a suit with his hair up in a ponytail, similar to his anti-hardcore character from ECW. He was McMahons chosen representative to try and get the WWF Championship away from Austin, which in many ways was a sign of desperation from McMahon. Although Love was never successful in his attempts, its one of the most entertaining yet underrated iterations of Mick Foley, and he always had amazing chemistry with Austin.
