His WWE debut is up there as one of the best in company history, but Chris Jericho first met Vince McMahon ten months prior to making his way to McMahon's sports entertainment behemoth.

At that point, Jericho was a WCW contracted performer and the meeting itself took place the day after an episode of WCW Nitro.

As Jericho has detailed over the years - firstly in his A Lion's Tale book, most recently on Broken Skull Sessions - he'd reached out to the then-WWF after finally deciding that he wasn't going to sign a new deal with Ted Turner's rasslin' promotion.

WWF arranged a flight for Jericho, with Vince's personal limo driver collecting the future Le Champion and driving him to Chez McMahon. There, Jericho found himself joining a booking meeting featuring Jim Ross, Bruce Prichard, Vince Russo and Ed Ferrara.

Exquisite brownies were eaten, Jericho's advice was sought on how he'd book certain Raw scenarios, and the meeting ended with an indication that the Ayatollah of Rock 'n' Rollah would make his way to Titan Towers once his WCW deal expired.

That would indeed come to fruition, with Jericho later realising that this meeting was all part of a trust exercise. After news of this meeting or Y2J's impending signing with the Fed didn't leak out to the dirtsheets or 'the boys', McMahon knew he had someone on his hands who he could trust.
