10 Best Stretcher Matches In WWE History

7. Randy Orton vs. Rob Van Dam (One Night Stand 2007)

During and after his time with Evolution, Randy Orton made a name for himself in WWE by becoming The Legend Killer. The gimmick saw him take out countless legends including the likes of Sgt. Slaughter, Harley Race, Mick Foley and many others. Following the rebirth of the ECW brand in 2006, Orton shifted his focus to legends from The Land of Extreme, starting with Kurt Angle and later Rob Van Dam. It was well-known by this point among fans that RVD was on departing the company once his contract expired, but that didn't stop him from having a good Stretcher match at the One Night Stand 2007 pay-per-view where every match on the card was contested under extreme rules. The action was enjoyable, but it was RVD's spectacular selling that will be remembered most about this match. RVD took one heck of a beating throughout this bout as Orton had his mean streak and pent-up aggression on full display for the WWE Universe. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NAk11p-N-Js Despite that, RVD was able to Orton out long enough to wheel him on a stretcher over the finish line on the stage. RVD may have won the battle, but not the war. Orton, stunned and infuriated by the loss, continued to ambush RVD afterward, delivering a DDT to him off the barricade wall and a punt kick to the skull to boot. It was RVD's final WWE appearance in over six years, so kudos to him for putting Orton over in a big way on his way out.
