10 Best Things About The 2002 WWE Brand Split
7. Wrestling Quality
One of the most notable things about the 2002 brand split was how the qulity of wrestling improved. Particularly on Smackdown, there was a real focus on time and skill. Even over on Raw, wrestlers being spread out over two rosters meant more ring time.
Television matches started to feel more like PPV quality. There were contests such as the Raw Roulette TLC in October 2002, whilst over on Smackdown there were regular technically sound main events thanks to the likes of Edge, Chris Benoit, Kurt Angle, Rey Mysterio, and the Guerreros.
That same feeling should emerge with the new brand split. When you can have set wrestlers on dedicated shows, it allows for their quality to emerge. They aren't just going to be lost in the shuffle, but rather specific to their own brand.
