4. The Prospect Of All Elite Wrestling

Though nowhere close to a done deal, All Elite Wrestling, as a concept, is absolutely fascinating.

Professional wrestling has been starved of competition since WCW went out of business. Now, with Ring Of Honor and New Japan selling out Madison Square Garden and ALL IN’s unqualified success, the gap between the haves and have-nots is closing. None of these promotions may ever come close to surpassing WWE’s indomitable market position, of course, but threats like this make everything more exciting, and if All Elite gets off the ground, 2019 is set to be a very interesting year.

The trademarks have already been filed, and with the billionaire Khan family seemingly attached to the product, the lads have serious financial backing. Cody, The Young Bucks, and the rest of The Elite have been coy on their future as well. They’re clearly up to something, so let’s hope they’re able to make the mark they want on the wrestling world.

A media deal is critical and with WWE hoovering up more wrestlers than ever before, talent is becoming scarce. Still, if anyone can get this thing off the ground, it’s these guys.
