10 Best Things Happening In Wrestling Right Now (November 2018)
3. Daniel Bryan's Heel Turn
This time last year, Bryan was in the midst of petty squabbles with Commissioner Shane McMahon about what to do with the pesky duo of Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn...he is currently WWE Champion.
It has been an unbelievable 12 months; from Bryan finally being cleared, to his triumphant WrestleMania return, his record-breaking appearance at the Greatest Royal Rumble, the reunion of Team Hell No, feuding with The Miz, and finally him kicking AJ Styles in the dick, becoming WWE Champion, and putting on an epic with Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series.
The 'New Daniel Bryan' is something nobody could have anticipated, and it's bloody brilliant. He's not been a heel for six years, and is clearly relishing it.
People seem to forget just how good he was in the role in 2012, but he's wasted little time in reminding people in 2018. We've mentioned his clash with Lesnar, but it bears repeating just how good it was. He taunted a former UFC Heavyweight Champion prior to the match commencing and then hoofed him in the balls to get an advantage. He then proceeded to batter him around the ring, make his head turn purple, and even in defeat had a sh*t-eating grin on his face.
His subsequent promo on SmackDown LIVE was a masterpiece. Twisting his infamous "fight for your dreams, and they will fight for you" mantra into justification for his actions, he declared that he let Lesnar beat the weakness out of him and that the 'YES Movement' was dead.
We can't wait for his match at TLC against AJ Styles, and am eager to see where he goes from there with WrestleMania on the horizon.
