6. Lashley's Heel Turn (And What It Symbolises)

Bobby Lashley returned to WWE the night after WrestleMania 34 with a great deal of well-deserved hype following a successful few years rebuilding his reputation in Impact Wrestling.

However, as the months went on, the excitement around the former ECW and United States Champion began to dwindle thanks to disappointing feuds with Sami Zayn and Roman Reigns. Lashley was in desperate need of some inspiration and a change - that came in the form of MY MAN Lio Rush.

Appointing Rush as his manager and therefore mouthpiece allowed Lashley to accentuate his positives (his superhuman strength and incredible physique) and remove some of his weaknesses as a sports entertainer.

Furthermore, the subsequent heel turn last week against Kevin Owens was both necessary for his development as a character on Monday Night RAW, and emblematic of the fact that WWE (at least with some superstars) recognises how the audience perceives them.

Aside from a few notable exceptions, the company appear to be listening to what the WWE Universe want & how they feel about certain members of the roster, and reacting to that as opposed to blindly sticking to the face/heel dynamic that creative initially had planned.

Granted, we are still a long way from getting a satisfactory product in all areas from Vince McMahon, but it's a start!
