10 Best Things The Internet Has Done With WWE Raw (Nov 9)

Wayne Rooney slaps Wade Barrett, Curtis Axel makes an ambitious plea, and Cesaro channels his inner CM Punk.

This week on Raw, Manchester United captain and the highest-ever England international goalscorer Wayne Rooney slapped Wade Barrett to the floor. The internet reacted about as vehemently as you'd expect. Wrestling fans who know nothing about football voiced their opinion, as did football fans who know nothing about wrestling. Those of us in the middle felt a little smug, but largely just as bewildered as everybody else. This, of course, provoked the largest internet-based reaction of the show - but there were a good number of other talking points too. Whenever WWE come to the UK, there's always a fair amount of cultural confusion, and this week was no exception. Kevin Owens called out the Queen to no real reaction, but an attempt to suck up to the "local" football team caused a cascade of boos. JBL referenced the Spice Girls, and Michael Cole continually referred to Rooney's club as 'The Manchester United'. Simply put, it was a mess - a mess the internet went to town on.

10. I Wouldn't Be Surprised

https://twitter.com/WWECreative_ish/status/663884489064587264 @WWECreative_ish didn't pull any punches last night. This is one of their first tweets, and it just says so much about the current state of the company: Rollins' devastating injury, the incredibly important role he played, and the fact that WWE are now (ever so slightly) screwed. For everyone's sake, let's hope they can pull themselves out of this mire and make sensible booking decisions en route to Survivor Series (and beyond). Is it too much to ask? Don't answer that...
