When: Royal Rumble 2008.

Speaking of "the best", it's Edge and Rey Mysterio; those guys were always classic together, and that was true whether they were wrestling against one another or as a tag-team amidst the amazing 'SmackDown Six' days of 2002. Six years on from those bumpfests, 'Rated-Rey Rey' had a bruising World Title match at the '08 Royal Rumble.

The finish was more glorious than Robert Roode could ever hope to be.

Admittedly, everything in this match was helped by the timeless Madison Square Garden setting (that old short entrance is missed) and a red-hot New York crowd who appreciated workrate in the top matches. Come the end of this one, Mysterio went for a seated senton but was plucked from mid-air by Edge's gut-churning Spear.

MSG rose to its feet collectively and applauded the seamlessness of both men. Those who know what they're looking for will also appreciate how safe the bump was, all things considered. Edge took great care of Rey there without sacrificing the spectacle.
