10 Best TNA Matches Of All Time

8. AJ Styles Vs Samoa Joe - Turning Point 2005

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GL3FHvJPpls Samoa Joe was on a Goldberg-esque tear through the TNA landscape since débuting at Slammiversary earlier in 2005. Much was made of his unbeaten streak, which was on the line against 'The Phenomenal' AJ Styles at Turning Point. Joe was firmly in heel mode here, bringing a towel stained with Christopher Daniels' blood to the ring with him. Styles had most of the crowd behind him due to his loyalty to TNA, having starred in the company's first ever match in 2002, and outrageous high-flying ability. That's not to say the audience didn't appreciate Joe either - in fact the match drew several "this is awesome" and "TNA" chants of appreciation for both men. Styles looked to have retained his X Division title after dragging Joe off the top rope into a powerbomb, before nailing him with the styles clash, but the Samoan Submission Machine kicked out to the shock of everybody in the arena. Seconds later Styles went for a desperation roll-up after missing a top-rope move, and was smartly caught in Joe's coquina clutch finisher. After writhing in the hold for a few moments, he was declared unconscious by the referee - losing the title and lengthening the Samoan's undefeated streak in the process. Joe teased turning face after the match, helping AJ to his feet, but instead blasted his opponent with the title belt and hurled a few security guards around. Point made.
