7. Kurt Angle Vs Samoa Joe - Turning Point 2006
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U5FEiAGSUO8 Joe's undefeated reign continued for another 11 months, bringing its total length to around a year and a half, until he met Kurt Angle in a shocking turn of events. The former WWE superstar came into the company on a wave of legitimacy, billed convincingly as the only man capable of stopping the Samoan. The pair met at the November PPV, Genesis, with Angle forcing Joe to tap to the ankle lock and snapping his streak. The loser immediately requested a rematch, which Kurt turned down. Thankfully for the fans, Joe was eventually able to secure a rematch for Turning Point, at which the pair put on one of the greatest matches in the company's history. A match of intensity and fantastic technical ability typical of both men was put in danger when a ref bump occurred, casting doubt over the cleanness of the eventual finish. Sure enough, Joe snagged Kurt in the coquina clutch and made him tap out - but of course there was no ref to count the fall. A cheap ending looked imminent as Angle grabbed a chair, but Joe ducked the blow and it rebounded off the top rope back into Kurt's face (which was sold brilliantly). A second coquina clutch followed, as did a second submission. A fitting end to a fantastic bout.
