7. Triple X

Christopher Daniels, Low Ki and Elix Skipper were all members of the Sports Entertainment Xtreme (S.E.X...sigh) faction, and then joined forces to form Triple X.

They clicked as a team from the beginning. Putting on great matches with the Disciples of the New Church, America’s Most Wanted and Jerry Lynn and Amazing Red, they were one of the most talented teams in wrestling. They were one of the best reasons to watch the company in its early years.

Sadly they didn’t last long enough. In July of 2003, Ki left the company and the group split up. Later in the year Ki and TNA made nice (a recurring theme in their history), and Triple X reformed. Ki then left again (another recurring theme). Daniels and Elix stayed on as a team.

It was good, but not quite the same. Double X just doesn't work as well. They had a great and lengthy feud with America's Most Wanted, but ultimately had to disband after losing to them at Turning Point 2004 in a fantastic match.

The group had one more brief run at the end of 2007, but were no longer a premiere tag team. Low Ki (now Senshi) wasn’t around very much, and soon left the company again, breaking up the group for good. A sadly lacklustre ending to a great trio.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
