10 Best TNA Tag Teams Ever

6. L.A.X.

Had the trio of Homicide, Hernandez and Konnan stuck around longer, they had the potential to be the best tag team TNA ever had. They weren’t the best in-ring workers in the division (especially Hernandez), but they complimented each others' style, and they also represented something that TNA has badly lacked throughout its history: they were cool.

L.A.X. won The Wrestling Observer’s 2006 Tag Team of the Year award, as well as Best Gimmick. It’s not hard to see why. Konnan was cutting brilliant, fiery promos that would rile up the audience, and Hernandez and Homicide were true badasses in the ring. Their theme song, and intro video were far better than anything else in the company at the time. They stood out, dominated in the ring and were a blast to watch.

But as soon as Konnan left the company, the fun ended. The group lost their leader and best talker, and soon turned face. It didn’t work. They became downright embarrassing after Salinas (formerly known as Ariel in ECW) and Hector Guerrero joined the stable. The theme song changed, and the cool intro went away. They were boring. The magic they had couldn't be recreated, and L.A.X. went from one of the best things TNA had ever created to L.A.M.E.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
