Despite being one of the top women's wrestlers on the planet, Cheerleader Melissa didn't get much of a focus during any of her stints in TNA. She was introduced to the company (kind of) way back in 2008, where she was billed as Raisha Saeed and for some reason wore a niqāb. She came from Syria, and was a member of Awesome Kong's Kongtourage.

Melissa didn't wrestle so much as Raisha Saeed, used mostly as an outside distraction for Awesome Kong's opponents. Why TNA would choose to use such a performer in such a way baffles me, but there we go. Melissa returned to TNA a few years later as Alissa Flash, and experienced about as much success.

She received a TNA Knockouts Championship shot against Madison Rayne, but was unsuccessful. Melissa currently performs in Lucha Underground, again under a mask, as Mariposa.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
