10 Best TNA X Division Champions Ever

8. Jay Lethal

Jay Lethal is another in the long list of professional wrestlers that TNA didn't make the most of. When Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair came in to the company in 2010 it seemed as though they took a shine to Black Machismo, and Lethal found himself in a number of marquee matches against some of the biggest names in the company.

Lethal was an X Division Champion a long time before 2010 however, with his first title win coming in 2007 at Slammiversary. He would only hold the belt for two days, however, before dropping it to Samoa Joe, ostensibly as a way of getting every active title in TNA into the hands of Kurt Angle. Yes, that happened.

Lethal stayed around the title picture however, and it was he who eventually dethroned Kurt Angle in the X Division. Lethal would go on to have six total reigns as champ, although three of those came in 2010 alone.

If TNA had known what to do with him, Jay Lethal could very well have found himself in the upper echelons of this list having been the face of X Division for many years. As it stands he's no longer with the company, instead closing in on a year as Ring of Honor World Champion.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
