10 Best TNA X Division Champions Ever

7. Amazing Red

Once upon a time, the wrestling world was convinced that Amazing Red was going to be the new Rey Mysterio. Granted, this was pretty much only because Red was far smaller than all of his fellow competitors and flew around a lot, but the comparison was intended with respect. They are both the same height after all, each standing 5'6".

Red won the TNA X Division Championship on three occasions, and despite being portrayed as competing somewhat above himself the entire time, he always carried the title with grace. His reigns weren't all that memorable, but he was unique in that he was a plucky underdog that was more than capable of getting everything done without relying solely on heart.

Red's first X Division Championship run started in April 2003 when he dethroned the notoriously grumpy Kid Kash for the title, but he would hold the belt for just two weeks before dropping it to Chris Sabin. It would be a whole six years before he would hold the gold again, shocking the world in 2009 by defeating Samoa Joe, of all people, for the belt.

Red's third and final reign came and went in the blink of an eye, as he picked up the strap from Jay Lethal at a live event in 2010 before losing it back to Lethal just two days later.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
