10 Best TV Shows About Wrestling

8. ¡Mucha Lucha!

Celebrating its 20th anniversary this summer - do you feel old yet? - is Warner Bros.' fantastic animated kids show ¡Mucha Lucha!.

Set in the California town of Luchaville where basically everybody is a masked lucha libre wrestler, the series focuses on three friends, Rikochet, Buena Girl, and the Flea, as they attempt to make it through lucha school.

At once a tribute to the wild world of lucha libre and a wonderfully wholesome, heartfelt show for kids and adults alike, ¡Mucha Lucha! is an endlessly inventive animated comedy that refuses to talk down to its target audience even while not being above some toilet humour.

Despite being the first animated TV series made for kids created with Adobe Flash - as became an industry standard in the years following - there's an impressive consistency to its striking, colourful art style and animation, tied together by strong vocal performances across the board.

¡Mucha Lucha! aired for three seasons and a straight-to-video movie, ¡Mucha Lucha!: The Return of El Maléfico, was also released near the end of its run.
